Hiking

There are plenty of nature trails adjacent to our campground within the Mark’s Bay Conservation Area, and more challenging trails that begin just a short drive away.

The Marks Bay Conservation area is operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority. The conservation area is 254 acres in size and contains a number of old logging roads and deer trails in a mostly forested area for picturesque hiking and nature viewing. The area is home to numerous deer, birds, and other wildlife. The forest is primarily red pine with some cedars scattered.

For a bit more challenging hike, a short 10 minute drive away is the Gros Cap trail, which is part of the Voyageur Trail system that runs between Sudbury and Thunder Bay.
